Gender Equality Forum

GESIS is structured as a ranking system for energy operators that will be assessed through a framework of indicators that enables operators’ self-assessment of GESIS’ performance through a central institution - the Forum for Gender Advocacy (FGESIS).The aims of FGESIS are

  • To represent civil society, businesses energy operators, administration and government, investors, and other stakeholders in the design, development, and implementation of GESIS for the energy sector
  • To become a forum for consultation and discussion during the design of GESIS and its instruments.
  • To provide an organizational structure that can advocate for GESI in the energy sector, under the tutelage of MGCAS
  • To promote integrated statistics that measure human development, energy access, economics, and other impacts resulting from energy operator’s activities
  • To provide independent assessors for the evaluation of performance on the GESIS by energy operators
  • To make recommendations to ARENE and other competent authorities to award GESIS ranks to energy operators
  • To participate in assessments of GESI practices in economic and administrative sectors
